Megan Fontaine
Email Marketing Consultant
Owner, Email Wise LLC
I’m Megan, the founder of Email Wise — a consultancy built on the belief that email should feel good to send and good to receive. After years of watching organizations treat email like a megaphone instead of a relationship tool, I’ve seen a pattern forming. Teams are overwhelmed, audiences are tuning out, and the pressure to “just send something” is drowning out strategy, clarity, and respect.
I started Email Wise to change that. Today, I help organizations communicate with intention, build trust with their audiences, and use email as a tool for connection rather than noise. My work blends strategy, data, insight, and practical execution — all grounded in a deep respect for the humans on the other side of the screen.
On a personal note…
I’m based in Maryland, where I split my time between consulting work, family life, and creative projects. I’m a big believer in organization and systems that make life easier — values that show up in the way I work and collaborate with clients. When I’m not deep in email strategy, you can usually find me organizing something, rearranging a room for the third time, or planning a trip with friends or family.
My Approach
Email is one of the most powerful marketing channels you have—but only when it’s used purposefully and thoughtfully. My approach is built on three core principles:
Respect the audience: Every inbox belongs to a real person with limited time and attention — just like you and me! I help organizations build email strategies rooted in reality, grounded in clarity, empathy, and purpose.
Reach with intention: More email isn’t better email. Sending every message to every contact on your mailing list is not a strategy. I focus on helping organizations develop the right messages and campaign flows based on a clear understanding of what their audience actually needs.
Build trust through consistency: Trust is earned through steady, predictable, human-centered communication. I help organizations create systems, processes, and content that strengthen relationships over time — not just in one-off campaigns.
